Is bus transportation available?
Our students travel to school from many different areas. We do not offer bus transportation. Some parents who live in close proximity do choose to carpool, but this is left up to them to work out.
Sports are a big part of my life. What type of sports do you have at SSBS?
In the fall we offer Volleyball for girls and Soccer for boys. In the winter, there is Basketball for both boys and girls. There is also an intramural 3v3 indoor soccer league for boys in the spring.
I don’t consider myself an athlete. Are there activities available for me?
There are many opportunities to be involved in choir, band, piano, dramatic productions, yearbook, newspaper, and the IACS Fine Arts and Academic competition.
What grades does your school consist of?
Our school program begins in K-3 and continues through the 12th grade.
What time does the school day begin and end?
The school day begins at 8:00am and continues until 11:15am for Kindergarten, 3:05 for Elementary, and 3:10 for Junior High and High School.
I work and would not be able to pick up my child each day at normal dismissal time. Do you offer daycare?
We understand the needs of working families. To help in this area, we do offer daycare, which is an additional $4 per hour.
Is there testing done before enrollment?
Students come to South Side from many different academic situations. Testing is done at the principal’s discretion. This can be discussed during a meeting with the principal. To schedule a meeting, please call the school office at 708.425.3435
Does South Side Baptist School offer financial aid?
No.
What curriculum is used at South Side Baptist School?
We use A Beka, BJU Press, and Saxon Math.
Must students wear uniforms at South Side Baptist School?
We do not require uniforms, but we do have a dress code policy that emphasizes modesty and sets an atmosphere for learning.
